Henry’s Kitchen, the sustainable eco-friendly restaurant in Hampton Court, celebrated its first birthday with the Mayor of Elmbridge, Councillor Jan Fuller and Alice the Bear from Princess Alice Hospice on Saturday 30th May with a special birthday cake.
The Mayor of Elmbridge, Cllr Jan Fuller, said “Henry’s Kitchen uses local suppliers and I think the fact that businesses can work together like this to support each other is commendable. I would like to congratulate Henry’s Kitchen on its first birthday. The restaurant has proved not only that local businesses can work together, but also very successfully.”
Reza Amini, restaurant owner, Henry’s Kitchen said “I would like to thank the Mayor and Alice the Bear for helping us celebrate our first birthday. I’d like to thank my staff and all our customers who’ve visited the restaurant throughout the year. The restaurant has raised £1,000 so far for Princess Alice Hospice and we hope to raise more this year.”
Henry’s Kitchen supports Princess Alice Hospice by donating 50p from the sale of two menu items. The all day restaurant serves a wide range of breakfast dishes and a selection of British and world cuisine.
It was recently awarded a Two Star Accreditation Certificate (out of three) by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) for its eco-friendly and sustainable initiatives. The restaurant’s interior walls are made from reclaimed timber from Farnham, Surrey; the menus are printed on recycled paper and lights fittings are energy-saving LEDs. Local ingredients are used and fish comes from sustainable fisheries in Britain certified by the Marine Stewardship Council.
Its big brother is Henry’s Grill in Esher, also awarded a Two Star Accreditation Certificate for its eco-friendly and sustainable initiatives.
Henry’s Grill in Esher features a rotisserie charcoal grill, which gives a delicious flavour to the restaurant’s choice of British and Welsh meats, free range chicken from Windsor and fish and seafood from sustainable sources.
